#SUD23 in a nutshell
On 25 May 2023, 1’500 participants gathered to unlock Switzerland. The national networking and business platform encouraged startups, investors, corporates, and SMEs to learn, network, and address current challenges. The attendees built their own conference program with the choice of 45+ inspiring sessions and 150+ experienced speakers. The marketplace with 30+ exhibitors and the matchmaking area invited everyone to network and find support. At the end of the event, the whole Swiss startup ecosystem voted for this year’s outstanding winner startups.

The Collective community
The Collective initiative put the female founders and investors at the center point of #SUD23. 100 of the female attendees started the startup days with a fruitful networking breakfast. For the first time, attendees could take advantage of free childcare service. Moreover, the Collective held six sessions with 500 participants. In the panel discussion, Bettina Hein, Patrizia Laeri, Nicole Kleger and Andreas Göldi shared their experiences. The advice: Consider different funding sources, such as non-dilutive funding, crowd-investing and family offices, besides VCs.

Smart networking through matchmaking
One of the startup days highlights are the 1:1 meetings. A couple of weeks before the event, the attendees pre-booked 570 1:1 meetings online. The networking platform provided space to build business relationships and foster matchmaking. The startups, investors, corporates and key players met face-to-face during the matchmaking session. In 15 minutes they discussed their ideas and needs.
